Drunk Driver Runs Over Killing Three People at Street Fair
A 56-year-old man ran over and killed three people in Brazil last Saturday night. Security cameras in an establishment recorded the moment when a car, out of control, invades the place where the festivval fair was held.
There were street vendors and city residents participating in the event. The silver-colored fiesta vehicle passed through, destroying tents and running over those at the fair. The vehicle only stopped after it hit another car that was parked.
People surrounded the vehicle and the driver was almost lynched. They had to lift the vehicle to take out two victims who were dragged and got under the car. A woman who would be the driver's companion was also in the car and left the place with her her hands on top of her head.
Driver J.F.A.R. was arrested in the act by the Military Police. He was taken to the Federal Highway Police (PRF) who detected drunkenness through a breathalyzer test (0.74 milligrams of alcohol per liter of expelled air). He was then taken to the Regional Civil Police Precinct.
At the police station, J.F. said he didn't remember anything and refused to testify.
The victims of being run over were identified as J. A. P. de A. (Z. P.), 55 years old; M. d. R. de A. L. (L.), 54 years old; and 59-year-old M. I. R. da S., who is the mother of the chief of staff of the Municipality.
